Most of the playable characters must be unlocked before they can be used. There are sixty unique cars, eighteen playable characters, and sixteen courses, each with two tracks. In Survival Mode, players must do certain things to advance. The three new game modes are Survival Mode (smash into opponents on particular areas of a track), Survival Relay (relay courses with several players), and Survival Ball (a football game). These can be updated anytime, even while the race is in progress. The course features a wide variety of goods, challenges, obstacles, and vehicles, such as hoverboards, bicycles, air riders, yachts, air skates, and other types of vessels. Characters can turn tight on corners using this move, just like they could with the Grip move in the game before it. Gravity Drift is the name of the third option. Alternate routes through walls and other surfaces can be found by manipulating gravity and using it differently. This makes it possible for the Gravity Dive ability, which creates a black hole, draws the player into it, and grants them quicker speed and control over gravity. Earning gravity points requires accomplishing several challenges as well as doing various feats. This game version includes certain new powers not found in the previous installment. Team Sonic is tasked with unraveling the enigma surrounding MeteorTech and determining the motivations of the robots in their pursuit of meteorites. When four unexplained meteorites collide with the earth, they accidentally activate MeteorTech robots located worldwide, then go on a killing spree. The second installment in the Sonic Riders series, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, is a racing game for hoverboards in the Sonic universe.
